Michaelmas and Trinity Cuppers

Cuppers is the term for any inter-college competition at Oxford. Athletics has two Cuppers events each year. The first is in Michaelmas term - a chance for newcomers to show their form for selection for Freshers’ Varsity and OUAC members to test their fitness or even try a new event. The second is in Trinity term, early in the summer season. This competition is a chance for Varsity Match hopefuls to show their form and also acts as open trials for athletes from other sports who think they have a chance at summer glory in athletics. Champagne standards mean that there is more than glory to be won! Both Cuppers also attract eager beginners who come down to Iffley Road to win some points and help their college towards a team Cuppers victory.
